stud philosophy

Our motto, 'Everything Matters' pretty much sums up the detail that goes into breeding our horses. Every aspect from feeding to foaling is considered carefully, and the stud works on the importance of identifying and utilising genetic strengths and weaknesses to create successful 'nicks'. Although all of the Esplendour horses that have been shown have acheived at least one 'A' Grade Champion at halter, it is the quality horses that now carry the Esplendour's prefix that have made us known to the industry today.
It is important to us, especially in an industry that has currently and arguably an over-supply of animals, that we aspire to breed the very best we possibly can. In the past, we have spent hours poring over pedigrees and archival photographs of ancestors, and we feel that our efforts are now paying off e-splendidly!
We have always been keenly interested in 'coloured ' horses and as a future direction we will be looking towards promoting the purebred SABINO arabian both in this country and overseas. This pursuit will undoubtably add a whole new deeper dimension to an already strict breeding practice....
